On 01 August 2022, Pak Army Aviation Helicopter was on flood relief duty and remained missing for many hours. The heli lost contact with the control and crashed in Lasbela, Balochistan.

Senior Officials Were On Board

Official sources reveal that Corps Commander Quetta was in the Helicopter and embraced shahadat due to the incident. Other senior officers was also in Helicopter.

Commander Quetta Corps Lt General Sarfaraz Ali, Director General Coast Guards Major Gen Amjad, Engineer Brigadier Khalid, Major Saeed (Pilot), Maj Talha (Co-pilot), and crew member Naik Mudassir were killed in the incident.

DG ISPR Has Officially Announced The Incident

In a tweet DGISPR said:

A Pakistan army aviation helicopter which was on flood relief operations in Lasbela, Balochistan lost contact with ATC. 6 individuals were on board including Commander 12 Corps who was supervising flood relief operations in Balochistan. Search operation is underway.

UPDATE: On 2 Aug 2022 DGISPR confirmed the Shahadat of 6 Officers & Soldiers including Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali. The wreckage of unfortunate helicopter was on flood operation relief operation found in Musa Goth, Windar, Lasbela. Accident occurred due to bad weather as per initial investigations.
